Om Blessed Friends of Sivananda Ashram Bahamas,
During these unprecedented and challenging times when all of our worlds have been changed forever, your generosity is as important as ever.
The Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas, a place many of us consider our spiritual home, has been shuttered to the outside world since March of 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. The fulltime staff of acharyas and swamis as well as our loving priest, and some karma yogis representing about 20 people, have been keeping their spiritual practices going, maintaining the propertyand connecting with the outside world through an impressive offering of courses and daily yoga practices. These online efforts have brought some needed income to the Ashram to keep paying the bills. But the effort is not enough to carry the operational expenses which are high in the Bahamas.
A group of devoted teachers, friends and yoga vacationers are now coming together to help support the ashram through a campaign to raise an average of $80,000 per month to reach a goal of $1,000,000 dollar that will help insure that the ashram survives during these unprecedented times that are forcing it to keep the doors closed to teachers in training, karma yogis and yoga vacationers.
Now more than ever, we’re so grateful for the community that has funded, volunteered, celebrated, and advocated for Sivananda Ashram through the years. At a time when everything feels uncertain, we find comfort and encouragement knowing that you care.
While much of the world has stopped, the spiritual work of the Ashram cannot be placed on pause. That’s why we’re asking you to help us cover the cost of continuing our work together by becoming a(monthly) donor.
By joining this effort, you will help sustain the work of the ashram and ensure that the doors stay open f] as we adapt to ever-changing circumstances due to COVID-19.
While all of us are facing great challenges at this time, we hope that you can find some peace knowing that the Ashram is able to thrive because of your generosity.
On behalf of all of us at Friends of Sivananda, thank you for being a part of our community. We wish you and your family health, safety, and happiness and want you to know that together, we can overcome all things.
